Visiting the SLA-Managed Islands
Need a quiet respite away from the city? Organizing a retreat for some undivided focus? Head south to some idyllic island gems managed by SLA - St John’s, Lazarus and Kusu islands.
Follow our Recommended Route or explore each of these treasures on its own. Whichever the case, do note the following guidelines:
- Please bring along sufficient drinking water and food to last the whole day as there are no retail and F&B shops on the island.
- Occasional encounters with wildlife in natural environments are unavoidable.
- There are no medical services available on the islands.
- Camping is only permitted at designated areas, click here to apply for camping permits. Any public event requires a Public Entertainment License

Experience nature on the St John Island's Trail
1] Start off with a ferry from Marina South Pier to St John's Island.
Relax at the idyllic Lazarus Beach
2] Take a 15 to 20 min walk to the beautiful Lazarus beach over the Lazarus causeway.
Immerse in the unique culture of Kusu Island
3] Return to the St John’s Island jetty to take the next ferry to Kusu Island
Regular ferry services serve St John’s and Kusu Islands on fixed schedules from Marina South Pier. The is no scheduled ferry services to Lazarus Island / beach, you will have to walk there from St John’s Island.
Private hire boat services are also available for charter from Marina South Pier if you prefer a more flexible schedule.
Marina South Pier is easily accessible via MRT (Marina South Pier Station), taxi or public transport. Find out how to get there
