SINGAPORE GEOSPATIAL MASTERPLAN
The Singapore Geospatial Masterplan is a blueprint to maximise the impact of geospatial information and technology along three main pillars:
- A trusted public service to empower effective geospatial policy-making, planning and operations to support the business community and the citizens of Singapore;
- A thriving geo-powered business environment that broadens and deepens the use of geospatial technology and data to improve productivity and encourage innovation;
- An able workforce skilled in understanding, using and implementing geospatial data for the betterment of their everyday lives.
To realise these, SLA has launched the following initiatives.
SLA launched GeoWorks, a geospatial-focused industry centre on 16 July 2018 to foster a vibrant geospatial ecosystem between geospatial technology and service providers, users and public agencies. The centre aims to promote business growth, drive innovation and help build a vibrant geospatial community.
GEOSPATIAL CAPABLITY CENTRE
The Geospatial Capability Centre was established to build cutting-edge geospatial capabilities in-house, deepen Singapore’s geospatial expertise and raise capabilities across the Public Service.
An 8-agency supported Geospatial Scholarship was launched to offer local/overseas undergraduate and post-graduate scholarships in geospatial-related courses to qualified candidates.
